Dorset Steam Fair

Held annually The Great Dorset Steam Fair is widely regarded as the leading event of it's type in the Country, being held on a 500 acre site at Tarrant Hinton near Blandford, with attendances topping the 200,000 mark.
Each year you will see one of the largest collections of steam engines
and associated equipment. There are approx. 200 working steam engines, 100
fairground organs and around 2,000 other working exhibits.
The highlight of the fair for many is the Old Time Steam Funfair. Over 50
of the Showman's engines bedecked in rows of lights with their brasswork
gleaming, generate the light and power for the old traditional roundabouts
and swingboats. As night falls, it is a wonderful experience to wander around
as these magnificent engines work all around you.
Other features include :-
- Working crafts.
- Vintage cars, motorcycles and tractors.
- Market stalls.
- Autojumble.
- Craft stalls and exhibits.
- Beer tents.
to name but a few.
