One of the improvements
for the 2000 season, has been the introduction of specialised Beach Wheelchairs
at the ever popluar Sandbanks Beach. The special design of these chairs
allows the user to get onto the beach, and if the water's warm enough,
in the sea, thanks to its special balloon tyres and custom chassis. The
chairs are for hire on the beach, from the same group who operate Poole
Shopmobility. The reaction to the chairs has been extremely positive,
and hopefully the scheme will be set to expand.
