Corfe Castle

Corfe Castle is a delightful village set in The Purbecks on the road to Swanage. The village is dominated by the ruins of Corfe Castle itself.
Constructed from the local Purbeck stone, the Castle remains are a testament to the strength of the castle, and the durability of the local stone. The village buildings are also constructed out of Purbeck stone, adding to the villages charming character. There is a Visitors Centre located near to the Castle, which provides a background of the Castle as well as a look at how people lived in medieval times.
The village itself can get very busy during peak tourist times, so be prepared
for possible traffic queues. There are car parks available, but they can
be busy. There are a choice of eating places, all of which offer a high
standard of food at reasonable prices. Having visited Corfe, why not carry
on the road to Swanage ?
