Shell Bay & Studland Beaches
The Shell Bay and Studland Beaches are of the finest quality with fine golden sand. The water is clean and safe, although it may sometimes be cool ! The beach slowly and gradually slopes away, ensuring it is safe for even the smallest of children.
Access to the beaches can be gained via the Sandbanks
Ferry, which carries cars as well as foot passengers, or by driving
round the long way through Wareham to Corfe Castle and then doubling back.
The Ferry gets very busy at peak periods during the summer and the quickest
way across is as a foot passenger.
There are fairly good facilities on the beach, although they are not as
good as you will find on the promenades of Poole and Bournemouth. There
is a restaurant / cafe serving a selection of hot and cold meals and ice
creams. There are toilets available but that is about it. If you take your
car across there is a small car park or limited on road parking, but expect
to queue to get across and to park
There is also the "Nudist Beach" at Studland, so you have been warned !
